Maternal mental health

Maternal mental health, even today, can often be overlooked and considered unimportant. However, maternal mental health is crucial for both the mother's and the child’s well-being. Poor mental health, such as postpartum depression or anxiety, can affect a mother’s ability to bond with her baby, impacting the child’s emotional and cognitive development. A mentally healthy mother is better equipped to provide care, nurture, and stability for her child. Early detection and support through counseling, therapy, and social support can improve outcomes for both mother and baby. It is very essential to prioritize maternal mental health as it can benefit families and society as a whole.
